Heart of Lions Taste First GPL Defeat

Kpando Heart of Lions tasted their first defeat of the Ghana Premier league against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium in the final week 8 fixture.

Accra Lions scored two goals in the first half before Heart of Lions got their consolation goal in the second half of the game to end the game 2 – 1.

Heart of Lions tasted their first defeat of the league season since gaining promotion to the top flight after eight years of absence. Their opening six games of the season have all ended in draws. For Accra Lions, this is their first win in their last five games.

The win takes Accra Lions to 14th position on the league log whiles Heart of Lions remains 18th position on the league log with just 6 points in seven games.
