Kudus is the star in the black star – Anthony Baffoe

Kudus is Ghana’s star

Former Ghanaian international, Anthony Baffoe believes that Mohammed Kudus is now a super star in the Black Stars ahead of Andre Ayew and Thomas Partey.

The former player sees Kudus as the face of Ghana football ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations that kick start in January next year.

Baffoe said this after the Cup of Nations group stage draw in Cote D’Ivoire.

He explained that the group is tricky but Ghana has the caliber of players to scale through the group stage.

He said, “it’s a very tricky group with Egypt who play so we’ll with a strong leader, Mohammed Salah. We have Cape Verde and Mozambique, who are two Portuguese speaking countries, and we find it difficult playing against them.” He said this to the media after the draw in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.

Having played 25 cups for the stars, Baffoe emphasized that Ghana has the quality to pass through this group.

” I’m confident we will emerge firstbor second in the group. We did not perform well in our last tournament in Cameroon, but generally, we are a tournament favorite. We still have Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus, who is the super star of the team.

We are good with our goalkeeper Lawrence Atizigi, I have confidence in the team. I know it’s not going to be easy but we will pass through the group stage. The other teams are closing the gap gradually but we must be on our toes to do well. ”

The 2023 AFCON will kick start on January 13 and completed on February 11, 2024.
