In his senior year of high school, Payton demonstrated his versatility on the field, amassing an impressive 2,842 all-purpose yards. He showcased his skills as a quarterback, tailback, and wide receiver, excelling in various positions, including passing for 1,088 yards and rushing for an additional 1,345 yards.
